As we alluded to above, unfortunately, there is no such thing as the perfect amount of time for SUP-ing. Between all the different types of SUP activities as well as the massive spectrum of experience levels, there just isn’t a universal answer. After all, this isn’t the one-size-fits-all section of our merch and accessories selections. Alas, we digress; so, how do you find the sweet spot for how long to paddle?

What You Want to Get Out of Your Paddle

Well, in our estimation, it truly depends on what you want to get out of your SUP session. For instance, if your intention is to burn a ton of calories, then you probably want a shorter session with high-level intensity, just like any other optimized workout. On the other hand, if you’d like to take your time and leisurely paddle through your scenic surroundings, then you’re probably better off with a low-intensity, slow-paced SUP session. Naturally, you can definitely find a sweet spot that’s right for you and your circumstances; again, it’s all up to you; it all comes down to what you want to get out of your paddle.
