Hawaii
Without a shadow of a doubt, Hawaii is easily one of the best places in the entire world for a SUP session. Whether it’s in the middle of summer or any other time of year, Hawaii is a clear standout for countless reasons. In addition to the wonderful weather and magnificent scenery, you are simply living a paddle boarder’s dream, as you are absolutely surrounded by some of the most beautiful, calm, and perfect-for-paddling waters in the world. In short, it just doesn’t get any better than Hawaii. As for a more precise location, if we had to choose, we would opt for Oahu, specifically because of Sunset Beach, Puaʻena Point Beach Park, Ala Moana Beach, and Lanikai Beach – all of which are some of the absolute best spots for SUP-ing anywhere on the planet.

California
Born and raised in Southern California, our team at Atoll Boards is more than familiar with this beautiful state and its bountiful beaches. While there are endless places to explore, we do have a few favorites. According to our staff of SUP enthusiasts, these are the best spots for paddle boarding in Southern California: Lake Tahoe, Redondo Beach, and anywhere in the Santa Barbara area. Needless to say, this is just the tip of the iceberg. For a full guide of the best SUP spots in SoCal, click here; and, for the top five places to SUP in Northern California, click here.
Black Canyon National Water Trail, Nevada
Last but certainly not least, Black Canyon National Water Trail is one of the most underrated places for SUP-ing in the United States of America. Nearly 30 miles long, this incredible route begins at the iconic Hoover Dam in Clark County, Nevada and ends at Eldorado Canyon. Over the course of this 30-mile expedition, one will have opportunities to experience other tourist attractions, including Willow Beach, Emerald Cave, and many more.
